Wondering whether it would help your teeth?
The hygienist checks whether air polish suits your teeth and your gums, and says so plainly if it does not.
What it does, and what it does not
Air polishing removes staining that sits on the surface of the tooth, the kind that builds up from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. It also clears soft deposits from grooves and around the gum line quickly and comfortably.
It does not change the natural colour of your teeth. If the shade underneath is what is bothering you, that is a different conversation, and whitening is the honest answer rather than more polishing.
It usually happens as part of a hygiene appointment rather than on its own, because removing stain without dealing with the gums underneath would be treating the wrong thing.
