If you are not happy with something.

If something has gone wrong, or you are unhappy with any part of your care, we would rather hear it from you directly and put it right.

Tell us first

Most concerns are resolved quickly by raising them with the practice. Ask to speak to the practice manager, either in person, on the phone or in writing.

You can complain on behalf of someone else, but we will usually need their written consent before we can discuss their care with you, because their treatment is confidential.

What we will do

We will acknowledge your complaint, tell you who is dealing with it and how long we expect to take, and let you know if that changes. We will look into what happened, respond to the points you have raised, and explain what we are doing as a result.

Making a complaint will not affect the care you receive here, and you do not have to justify raising one.

If we cannot resolve it

For treatment paid for privately, the Dental Complaints Service offers a free service for patients and dental professionals in the UK, and will look at complaints where the practice has not been able to resolve matters.

If your treatment was provided under the NHS, there is a separate NHS complaints route, and we will tell you which applies to your care and how to use it.

The General Dental Council regulates dental professionals in the UK. It deals with concerns about a professional's fitness to practise, which is a different matter from a complaint about a service, and it will normally expect the practice to have had the chance to respond first.
