Thirty minutes at the practice. What is bothering you, whether aligners can address it, and what it would involve.
Thirty minutes
This is a guide to the right first appointment, not a diagnosis. Your dentist will talk through what is right for you once they have had a look.
Would rather just talk to someone? Call 01709 872292 or send an enquiry.
Recreations based on Invisalign reference imagery, not photographs of our own patients. The before side keeps the original tooth positions, while the after smiles are shown straighter and brighter.
Thirty minutes at the practice, and no obligation to go ahead with anything.
£25 deposit, refunded when you attend. No obligation to go ahead.
A handheld camera instead of impression trays. Nothing sets in your mouth, and a three-dimensional model of your teeth appears on the screen in front of you.

FAQ
The aligners are clear and fit closely over the teeth, so they are far less obvious than fixed braces. They are not invisible, and someone close to you in conversation may notice them. The attachments bonded to some teeth are tooth-coloured and stay on for the duration of treatment.
Yes, because the aligners come out for meals. That is the practical advantage over fixed braces: no food restrictions. They go back in afterwards, and anything other than water needs them out, so drinks through the day take a little planning.
They need wearing for most of the day and night, taken out to eat and to clean your teeth. Worn less than prescribed, treatment stalls or takes longer. It is the single biggest factor in how well treatment goes and it is entirely down to you.
That is what the consultation is for. Some bites and some kinds of movement are better handled another way, and gum disease or decay has to be treated before any teeth are moved. If aligners are not right for you, you will be told so rather than sold them anyway.
The attachments are removed and retainers are fitted. Teeth drift back toward their old positions without something holding them, so retainers are part of the treatment rather than an optional extra, and they need replacing when they wear out.
The consultation is free. A £25 deposit secures the appointment and is refunded when you attend, so if you turn up it costs you nothing.
There is no dental treatment with a nil risk of complication, and any practice telling you otherwise is selling something. Before you agree to anything, expect a plain description of what could go wrong, how likely it is, and what the alternatives are, including doing nothing for now.
Whitening lightens natural enamel. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or white fillings, so an existing restoration at the front of your mouth can end up looking darker once the rest has lightened. Temporary sensitivity is common, and whitening is restricted by law to patients over 18 except where it treats or prevents disease.
Teeth have a memory. Once aligners come off they drift back towards where they started unless they are held, which is why retainers are part of the treatment rather than an optional extra afterwards. Expect some discomfort as teeth move, and expect us to want your gums healthy before we start.
A restoration is a repair, not a replacement for a healthy tooth. Fillings and crowns wear, chip and eventually need redoing, and root canal treatment can fail years later even when it was done well. How long any of it lasts depends heavily on cleaning, grinding and diet, which is why we spend appointment time on prevention.
The reception team is happy to talk things through before you commit to anything. No obligation, and no clinical detail needed over the phone.

Exceptional care with my 4-year-old daughter. The dentist put her at ease with his calm manner and patience. He, alongside the wonderful nurse, turned her into a girl who's shy around dentists to a confident, comfortable patient who is eager to go again. She loved sitting in the chair and the dentist was very patient with her. Great advice given at the end of the appointment, with the reassurance that her teeth are doing great. It's her third appointment now, and she is more confident each time. Thank you!
